AAPOR 2025 Best Poster Award for Sarah Ball

We are excited to announce that Sarah Ball received a Best Poster Award at this year’s AAPOR conference in St. Louis, USA!

This annual event brings together leading professionals and researchers to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in public opinion and survey research. Her award-winning poster, based on the collaborative paper “Human Preferences In Large Language Model Latent Space: A Technical Analysis On The Reliability Of Synthetic Data In Voting Outcome Prediction”, technically assesses the suitability of using Large Language Models (LLM) to simulate human survey data for predicting election outcomes. The findings reveal crucial limitations, demonstrating that LLM-generated data often fails to replicate the nuanced variance of real-world human opinions across demographic subgroups.

Congratulations to Sarah and her collaborators!
