Job Alert: Student Research Assistant in Natural Lanugage Processing (NLP) (m/f/x)

About us:

We are the Social Data Science and AI (SODA) Lab at the Department of Statistics of Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. We work on the social aspects and implications of artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Conducting research in NLP and computational social science.
  • Data collection, processing and analysis.
  • Model training and evaluation. Deployment with both open- and close-source (large) language models.
  • Assisting with academic writing for publications in NLP conferences

Your qualifications:

  • Enrollment at a German university with study major in computational linguistics, computer science, statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency in python and experience with Hugging Face libraries.
  • Proficiency in bash and experience with slurm.
  • Previous experience in NLP research is a plus.
