Project Manager - Data Science for Social Good 2024 (m/f/d)

The Chair of Statistical Learning and Data Science at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, led by Prof. Dr. Bernd Bischl, and the Social Data Science and AI Lab (SODA), led by Prof. Frauke Kreuter, are looking for outstanding applications for the position of Project Manager.

This year, the two LMU chairs and the Munich Center for Machine Learning (MCML) will join forces to host the second edition of a DSSGx chapter in Munich. Data Science for Social Good (DSSG) is an initiative founded at the University of Chicago in 2013. Its mission is to create and sustain programs, solutions, and communities that enhance the use of data science and AI for social good.

For more information, see our website and the website of the DSSG Organisation.

About the program:

The 8-week project-based training program will run from 1st August to 30th September 2024. It is designed to give young data scientists a strong skill set for solving real-world problems and an understanding, excitement, and passion for solving problems with social impact. Training Fellows: We want to help create the next generation of data scientists who have the data science skills to solve real-world problems and are passionate about focusing their efforts on solving social challenges.
Community: Seeding a community of interdisciplinary people and organisations working together to make an impact.
Exposing and training project partners (typically governments and non-profits) to more effectively use data to make better decisions.

The Project Managers (PMs) are a critical component of DSSGx. PMs work with dedicated teams of Fellows and the respective project partners.
