As data analysis becomes pervasive in academia and beyond, it is critical to reflect upon the competencies that should be possessed by the ideal single data analyst or, often, that are needed within a team that analyzes data. The department’s Open Science Initiative in Statistics approaches the subject specifically from the point of view of statisticians engaged in open science.
