Short Description

Dr. Andreas Dimmelmeier is a postdoctoral researcher in the project Green Data, Indicators, Algorithms: Connecting smart cities and green finance (GREEN DIA) that is funded by the Bavarian Institute for Digital Transformation.

From 2016 to 2020, Andreas was a Marie-Sklodowska-Curie fellow at the University of Warwick (UK) and Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), where he obtained a double doctoral degree in Political Science with a specialization in International Political Economy. Andreas’ research focus has been on the emergence and governance of sustainable finance as a policy field in Europe.

His research investigates the interlinkages between contested ideas and frames that expert communities have advanced to conceptualize sustainable finance and the regulatory instruments, measurement technologies, and data infrastructures that have stabilized these meanings. In addition to his research work, Andreas has also gained first-hand experiences in policymaking through an engagement at the European Commission and through working as a policy analyst for an EU think tank.
