Short Description

Anna Steinberg started as a PhD student in July 2024. She mainly works on the GIST project, a cooperation with the German Federal Bank, which deals with information extraction from sustainability reports using large language models. Furthermore, she is interested in comparing and combining approaches from statistics and computer science for the analysis of unstructured text data, such as topic modeling.

Anna Steinberg holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Mannheim and a Master's degree in Computational Linguistics from LMU. In between, she studied for a semester at Sciences Po Paris and interned at the Assemblée Nationale. During her second Master's degree in Mathematics at RWTH Aachen, with a stay abroad at Kyiv Mohyla Academy, she worked as a software engineer with the social start-up Serlo.
