Kristin is a joint external Ph.D. student at the chair of Applied Statistics in Social Sciences, Economics and Business and in the working group for Text Data and Statistical Language Technologies. She obtained her Master's degree in Computational Social Systems at RWTH Aachen and a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science at the University of Osnabrück. Kristin works on automatic hate speech detection with Large Language Models and explores how models can differentiate posts that are criminally relevant from harmless posts and posts which are offensive but protected under the right to free speech. Her other interests include ethics of AI, bias and fairness in AI, and sustainability.
